6 tips on how to transition your outfits from winter to spring
By @lea.muhigi
Hey guys, I'm back with another fashion post. As you have noticed, the snow is starting to melt away and that’s because spring is 5 days. I'm excited for warmer weather but sad to put away all my winter clothes for we no longer need the heavy coats and boots. It’s a bittersweet moment. This transitional period is a bit confusing because most of us don’t know what to wear since we have not brought out our spring and summer clothes yet. Today’s post is to give you some inspiration on what to wear during this transition. Without further ado, here are 6 tips on how to transition your outfits into the spring.
1. BOYFRIEND JEANS
We all love skinny jeans throughout winter because they can be tucked into boots. However, during the spring and summer, it is all about boyfriend jeans that crop right above the ankles. I prefer boyfriend jeans that have some rips and are a bit distressed. I love the relaxed and boyish look boyfriend jeans give. If you want to dress them up in a feminine way, wear a pair of heels. When it comes to jeans in the spring and summer time, it’s light wash all the way, therefore, bring out your light wash denim.
2. LOAFERS
Loafers are the fanciest version of flats. They are trendy yet a classic pair of shoes to own. Loafers are best styled with cropped jeans. They are comfortable and come in all different sorts of materials. I'm on the lookout for a pair of patent loafers. Metallic loafers are also very trendy at the moment.
3. FLORAL ACCESSORIES
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of spring are the flowers. Flowers are a common jewelry design and come in all types of colors and shapes. Floral jewelry is an easy way to elevate your outfit during this beautiful season.
4. DENIM ON DENIM
This trend never fails if done right. When pairing two types of denim together, try to stick with the same washes for a more cohesive look. If you're more daring, mix and match different washes for a fun and more statement-making outfit.
5. WHITE BUTTON-DOWN SHIRT
This is a closet must have throughout the whole year, but I feel is even more mandatory in spring and summer time because it gives a vibrant and clean touch to your outfit. You can style a white button-down shirt a million ways, which makes it a perfect basic garment to have in your wardrobe. An alternative to a white button-down shirt is a white t-shirt. They're basically the same thing.
6. BRIGHT COLORS
Everyone loves black clothes, however, as we transition into spring, try to incorporate brighter colors into your wardrobe. If you're someone who doesn’t like bright colors then stick to light neutral colors such as light pastels, whites and beige.
Alright, those are my 6 tips to help you guys transition your outfits into the spring season. Stay tuned for more fashion blog post and remember that you are fearfully and fashionably made!
